Dr. Quiceno attended medical school in his native Colombia before his ophthalmology training at UC San Diego.
He is one of San Diego's premier cataract surgeons, performing over 750 cataract surgeries per year for the last ten years.
He lectures to doctors in San Diego and throughout Latin America about the latest techniques in cataract surgery.
Dr. Quiceno specializes in the new lens implants which can restore near and distance vision.
These lenses include the RESTOR® lens, the Rezoom® lens, and the Crystalens®. He also implants the new Visian® intraocular contact lens, which corrects for near-sightedness or far-sightedness.
He is the team ophthalmologist for the San Diego Padres, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Quiceno lives in Eastlake with his wife and daughter. He is also a professional musician and singer, performing regularly in the San Diego area.
He has numerous CD recordings of his Latin ballads and guitar music.
